AT ETD I work with small businesses and organizations to develop creative and unique web site designs that not only fulfill the web based presence needs of the client, but also fits the image of the business or organization.  A web site for a paintball team should have a very different look and feel from a site that sells high quality artwork.  A web site should give an initial and immediate impression of "wow, that design is perfect" -- if the design does not initiate that initial response, the web designer is not doing their job.

In addition to focusing heavily on design, ETD web site development goes far beyond posting pretty pictures and text.  The basis of most of ETD's web site development is with ASP (Active Server Page) database programming which integrates database content with web pages.  Have you ever purchased an item on-line through an internet web site? This process of viewing items available for sale, selecting and adding them to your "shopping basket", and finalizing the purchase is an example of the power of ASP database programming.

Whereas a hard-coded web site with static pictures and text may require many pages, ASP database programming allows for a minimal number of physical pages with the content of those physical pages changing through ASP database queries depending upon the hyperlink that is selected.

As part of an ASP web site ETD provides a web-based front-end to allow the business or organization to easily add to and modify the content of the database information that is displayed on the site without having to understand databases or database programming.  This allows for a very flexible web site that is easily maintained and changed.  ASP based web sites are where the real power of the internet can be utilized.

ASP programming provides:

• minimum number of physical pages to develop and maintain--this requires more work up front, but makes the long-term maintenance of the content much less time consuming.

• content the client can easily maintain and make changes to without having to hire me to constantly update information.

• no web design or database knowledge on the part of the client.  The client simply enters information into the database which is posted immediately to the web.
